Sierra Gold has announced positive gold assay results from a hard rock formation in Sierra Leone.
The company stated that gold grades were over 23 grams per tonne, with the formation located within one mile of Sierra Gold's most recent discovery.
Publicised earlier in September, this previous discovery found gold grades of 32 grams per tonne - more than double the grades reported from samples tested from the same area in April of this year.
The company's geological team intend to explore the formation further and the initiation of a trenching programme to determine the strike length of the area is planned.
Sierra Gold is dedicated to the exploration and development of gold resources in West Africa, the greenstone belt of which the company states has a long history of mining for the precious metal.
A Nevada, USA company, Sierra Gold owns the mining rights of Sierra Leone gold mining company Northern Star Resources.
