A new puzzle has as its ultimate prize a gold coin worth £500, it has been revealed.
The ISIS is a metal enigma said by its makers to pose a challenge to even the most experienced conundrum-solvers.
Players are given the challenge of opening an alloy ball, constructed in layers and covered in hieroglyphics - this is the ISIS, each model of which is unique and necessitates a different opening combination.
Once the combination has been cracked, a key is found by the player within the ball, on which a number is stamped. This key will open one of a series of ISIS golden pyramids that are hidden in secret locations around Europe - within each pyramid is a gold coin worth £500, as well as a series of silver coins worth £20 each.
"The ISIS is the result of years of research and development and is completely original. There are literally millions of combinations and the game promises to challenge the most astute and intellectual of minds," commented creator of the puzzle Andrew Reeves.
The item has been featured on the BBC's Dragon's Den.
