This February, Cape Town hosts the Sustainable Mining Africa conference.
Between February 12th and 14th, the Cape Town International Convention Centre welcomes experts from the fields of gold mining and other natural resource extraction to discuss how the continent can develop its industry in a sustainable way.
Corporate social responsibility, improving sustainable development of communities and attracting investment from abroad will all be discussed at the conference, as will skills enhancement and developing local supply chain content.
"This event will provide you with the answers you need at this critical time. The conference will deliver a number of insightful case studies from a range of thought leaders operating in Africa," asserts IQPC.
According to the centre, one of the top five reasons not to miss the event is the integration of social, biological, physical and economic issues into land-use planning and mine design.
Mining Weekly reports that this is one of several mining conferences taking place next month, with other upcoming events including the Mining Indaba.
