A real-life Indiana Jones believes he has found the fabled Lost Ark of the Covenant, the holiest relic of the Jewish faith and made famous in Hollywood blockbusters, most notably Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark.

In a book released by Harper Collins, The Lost Ark of the Covenant, Hebrew lecturer Tudor Parfitt describes the moment he believed he had uncovered the lost treasure, according to Wales on Sunday.

He writes: "I felt a shiver down my spine… Everything in the room seemed to take on a hard-edged radiance. A strange sanctity seemed to shine from it."

A new Indiana Jones film will see Harrison Ford once more don the role in a movie produced by Stephen Spielberg and co-written by executive-producer George Lucas.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is due for worldwide release on May 22nd, 2008.
