Jewellery is taking its inspiration from the ocean this season, according to one writer.

In a post for Fashion For Lunch, Lindsey Anderson writes that there is an emerging trend for accessories featuring fish.

One piece she points to is a turquoise koi necklace by Max and Chloe Yochi, which features a gold carp, with scales formed from circles of turquoise and a blue gem-stone eye.

The pendant hangs from a gold chain.

For statement jewellery, Ms Anderson points to a "quirky" Old Hollywood creation - a gold ring formed in the shape of a fish skeleton.

Meanwhile, a clownfish and watersnake effect clutch by Katherine Fleming could help to complete the aquatic look, with the bag including a gold chain shoulder strap.

Elsewhere, jewellery designer Jennifer Meyer recently unveiled her new range of gold earrings and necklaces, which feature slogans such as Love and Kiss, according to the LA Times.
