A gold ring shaped like an ape's face is likely to make Western women particularly envious as it can currently only be purchased in Japan.

A combination of Crazy Pig and A Bathing Ape has resulted in the striking jewellery design, which sculpts what looks similar to an orangutan's image from yellow gold, Style Crave reports.

Inscribed with A Bathing Ape on the back, the piece is quite large and is unlikely to go unnoticed.

Meieli Detoni acknowledges that the price tag attached to the ring amounts to a "pretty penny", but adds: "This ape head is a one-of-a-kind creation with etched and sculpted touches. Check out that glow coming off the ape's head: that's a beauty."

A statement piece of gold could be perfect for consumers who wish to keep their accessories to a minimum but still make an impact.

The Sun's Toni Jones recently recommended that when preparing for a holiday, women should choose all gold or silver jewellery in order to minimise hassle.
