A drinks cabinet inspired by the luxury of the 1920s has gone on display in London, where visitors will be able to admire its gold leaf detailing. The gold leaf cabinet has been designed by Amanda Hutson of Hutson Bespoke and also features glass and chrome, while a hand-carved mahogany stool with silk upholstery will also be showcased in a window display of the Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour.
Launching the range, Ms Hutson points out that every piece is created following an in-depth consultation with the client.
Combining classic and contemporary styles, the range attempts to make the furniture stand out from the crowd with its unusual finishes, which include gold leaf, lacquer, coconut, resins and textiles.
Pieces include bedside tables and pyramid-shaped cabinets, feature walls painted by hand and walnut desks.
Mary Carol Garrity, in a recent article for the Courier Press, recommended making a feature of coffee tables by adding glasses and appetiser plates with gold detailing.
